Read this small newspaper clipping and then write a blog post about it. What are your thoughts? How does it make you feel? Do you agree? Disagree? Explain yourself.
I agree with the fact that we need to stop being so dependent on our parents and other adults and become self-dependent. I think that it is important for us to be prepared for our future and develop our own ideas and beliefs. I disagree with the fact that no one owes you anything when you are a teenager. You still have to have fun as a kid because if you don't enjoy what you are doing, then why would you do it.

What is a Public Service Announcement? If you don't know what it is, Google it. In your own words, now tell me what it is? What are they used for? Can you recall an example of a PSA you've seen before?

Public service announcements are messages with the objective of raising awareness, changing public attitudes, and behavior towards a social issue. In my own words, they educate the public on certain issues in a hope to solve the issue. An example of a PSA that I've seen before is the one where they show dogs in shelters and ask you to help out.

After watching the short clip of Ashton Kutcher's acceptance speech what did you take away from his advice? What does this quote mean to you -"Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you, and you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use."

I took away from his speech that you should live your own life and not do what others say you should do. You should do what you want to do and you shouldn't stop doing it just because most people don't do it. He's saying that you can't be fully happy if you're no doing what you love to do. He also says that being smart is the sexiest thing in the world. I think he means that intelligence is the most important quality a person can have. You should be who you want to be and not settle for anything less.
