What are you doing for Thanksgiving? Do you have any traditions? Go in to detail about your plans for the 5 day weekend.

For thanksgiving my family is of course going to have a big meal. My oldest brother has come home for the holidays so that is always good. We really don't have any traditions, but we will probably sit around and watch football all day. My family always makes our thanksgiving meal together. I usually help peel the potatoes and other various things.

Reflecting on the comments and grade of your stop-motion animation... what you would do differently if you had to do it all over again? Would you manage your time better? Find better lighting for your photos? Come up with a better idea? Explain what you would change about your video.

I don't think i would change anything. Some of the things i don't really understand why i got the grade i did. I got counted off for some things that i thought was good like having the camera stationary and having a title and credits. I'm not reall sure how i I got counted of for style and consistency, but I'll take the grade I got.

Tell me about your weekend.

This weekend I went to the gear sale and watched football. I was really excited to see that the chiefs beat the Seahawks. I also had a lot of homework to do . I had to write half of a paper and I had to catch up on my physics homework.

Tell me about your experience with taking your stop-motion photos. What problems did you run in to? What did you find difficult about the process? What would you go back and change about HOW you took the photos? Explain yourself.

My experience taking stop motion pictures was pretty good. Some problems I ran into was when we took a break from taking the pictures, it was hard to get back into the same position you were in before. Sometimes the camera wouldn't have the same lighting every picture. If i could change how i took my pictures, i would have made the camera have a more birds eye view.

What is your stop motion idea? How is your idea innovative and creative? How are you going to execute it?

My stop motion idea is I'm going to make answers magically appear by snapping or hitting the table. This is creative because in stop motion you can make something look like it is magically appearing because you have time between pictures. I'm going to have someone help me take pictures of me doing this.

Stop motion animation is an animation technique to make a physically manipulated object or persona appear to move on its own. So you use a bunch of photos to make something look like it is moving and doing something.

Tell me about your idea for your 5 frame story board. What is the plot? How do you plan to make the story creative? Who's the main character? What is the beginning, middle and end? Tell me about your plan of attack.

My 5 frame story board is the steps to making waffles for me in the morning. The first picture is getting the waffles out of the freezer, then putting them in the toaster, then put peanut butter on them, then put syrup on them, and the last one is eating the waffles. I had to make sure to make the lighting in my house good so you could see my pictures clearly.

Yesterday you edited and uploaded photos to your blog. Tell me more about your photos. HOW did you edit them? Why did you choose the photos that you did? Explain your assignment.

In my photos, I edited them by making them brighter, cropping them, and messing with other stuff on photoshop.com that made them look better than the original picture. I chose these photos because they were clearer than the others and looked better. Some of the other pictures weren't as good because they were far away and blurry.

This weekend I waited to see who we will play in the payoffs and now we play Shawnee Mission South in the playoffs which is very exciting. On Saturday I went to see my big brother play football in Warrensburg, Missouri. His team lost against Central Missouri but it was still good to see him. On Sunday I went to the Chiefs game with my friend. The Chiefs won so it was a great game to go to.

I know nothing about photography or editing. If I ever take a photo, I use my phone. I never edit photos and I guess that means I don't like it or have any interest.

Tell me about your weekend. Share pics!

This weekend played in the football game on Friday. We scored 70 points and Gardner was very bad. On Saturday my family went over to our family friends house and we watched football and ate barbecue. On Sunday I watched football again and cheered my fantasy football team on. My  team ended up winning so I was happy.

Below is a letter written to the editor who wrote the article 'Enforcement of dress code creates negative effect' that your blogged about last week. Most of you wrote on your blog that you agreed with the writer. What are your thoughts after reading the letter below and seeing a different perspective. Are they the same? Are the different? Do you agree? Disagree? Explain yourself.


I get this point of view and understand it, but I don't agree with the idea that blue valley should hold us to a higher standard in clothing simply because that's how we will have to dress later in life when at work. Obviously this doesn't affect me and it doesn't bother me what opinion someone has on this issue, but i think that people should dress how they want to and not have to wory about someone saying something to them about it

The perfect curriculum would be learning things that would actually benefit you later in life. I seriously doubt I'm going to need to know all of the stuff i learn in math class and chemistry class. Every student should be able to take classes that they think will benefit them later in life. So if a person thinks they want to go into business, they shouldn't have to learn stuff for chemistry because that will be useless for them later in life. So I think school should have less requirements to graduate so students can take more classes that will benefit them.

Tell me about your Homecoming weekend! If you didn't participate in the Homecoming festivities, what did you do? Share pics!

Homecoming weekend was very fun. I went with a group of my friends to dinner and then to an after party. We also had pictures outside and it was very hot. Everybody was sweating and just wanted to get inside. At dinner, I had a filet mignon. It was good, but it was very little food for a really expensive price. The after party was at Matilda Brooks' house and our whole group went there. It was a fun night.

I agree with what she is saying. As a boy, I obviously don't have a problem with the girls dress code, but i can see how it would be annoying and embarrassing to girls. And as a boy, whatever a girl is wearing is never distracting to me. Schools should probably have a more justified reason to make girls change what they wear than it can be distracting to boys because it is not. I get that it might be weird for administrators if a girl is wearing a certain outfit, but not weird enough to make the person go change. This issue really doesn't affect me, but i would have to say I would agree with Riley Miller.

Over the weekend i went to Emporia State to watch my brother play football. He plays football for Lindenwood University. They lost, but it was still go to see my brother. On Sunday it was my dads birthday. We watched NFL football and the Royals on Sunday. It was very exciting to see the Royals advance to the ALCS. I love the Chiefs and the Royals and my favorite place is Arrowhead and Kauffman stadium.

What is an infographic? If you don't know, go look it up. Read about it and then in your own words tell me what an infographic is. What do infographics do? How do they work? What makes a really good infographic?

An infographic is images and charts that give data. Infographics can turn a big topic or confusing topic into something that is understandable. A good infographic makes topics interesting and easy to understand. They work by using charts and graphs to represent data.

Imagine Mr. Bacon has asked you to suggest one way of improving Blue Valley High School to make it a better place for students. Think about the changes that are needed at your school. Pick one change you feel would really make a difference and explain what it is and why you'd make the change.

Blue valley needs to change parking to make it better somehow. It seems like everyday there is someone that hits a car  in the parking lot because the parking lot is so small. You can barely get out of a parking spot when the parking lot it full. Traffic is always terrible when you are trying to get out of the school.

My favorite apps on my phone are twitter and MLB at bat. These are my favorite apps because on twitter, I can see tweets of my friends and other people, and on MLB at bat I can check the royals score and read articles on the royals.

What is email? When do you use email in your own personal life? List reasons and ways that people use email. What do you know about "email etiquette"?

Email is a way for people to contact other people and businesses to contact customers. I use email to look at things or coupons businesses send me. I never use it to contact anyone I know. People use email to contact people by sending them messages, pictures, links, and other things. Businesses can also contact people through it. I know nothing about email etiquette.

Now that you've been in Emerging Technology for several weeks... what do you think? Do you think the web tools (Drive, Evernote, Bubbl, etc.) are helpful to you? Do you think they will be helpful throughout high school or even college? Explain.

I think drive is awesome and i love how easy it is to access your documents, power points, or any thing in your drive is. As a school, we should definitely use this more often. I think evernote and Bubbl are alright. I would rather write an outline on paper than on bubbl and evernote is somewhat helpful, but it sometimes didn't work for me and didn't highlight everything i highlighted when i went back to look at the articles the next day. I will use google drive a lot because of this class, but I probably won't use evernote or Bubbl.

Do you enjoy writing? When do you enjoy it? What kind of writing do you enjoy? Why do you think the ability to write is so important no matter what kind of writing it is? Give an example that you enjoyed writing or hated writing. Why?

Generally i don't like writing. It is one of the more difficult things to do in the school. I enjoy it more when I'm getting class time to finish my writing and i don't enjoy it when I have to write at home. I enjoy writing research papers more than writing a story because i have trouble being creative when coming up with stories.Writing is important because it helps people express their thoughts and ideas. I enjoyed writing in freshman ELA.

Reflect on this quote. Give an example of a time in your life that this might have been the case.

I agree with this quote because if you aren't preparing for something, you wont be ready for it when it comes. Last Friday I had an AP physics test and if i didn't prepare for it, i would've failed it. Instead, I studied on my own the days before the test and i got a good grade on it. This is just one of very many examples and proves that preparing sets you up for success.

This weekend I played in the football game against west and we won. The next morning i had to get up early to take the ACT. I think i did well on it, but I'm not sure. On Sunday I watched football all day. My dad got NFL Sunday Ticket so now we can watch every single game on TV. It was very fun watching every single game.

What is the importance of research? Why do you need to know how to research? What have you learned in high school about researching topics and finding quality resources? Have you had a helpful teacher that has taught you to research? Explain.

Research is important because you always earn new things when you do. You need to know how to research so you can find what you are looking for quicker and easier. I've learned to use data bases and to research something you are interested in so it is more enjoyable for you to research. Ms. Edwards helped me realize that it is helpful to search about different things that have to do with your topic and not just search the same words every time.

Tell me about the global issue you selected. What do you already know about the issue? What are you looking forward to learning about it? Explain.


I chose to research the terrorist organization ISIS. They are one of the richest and powerful terrorist organizations in history. They have taken over parts of land in Syria and in other parts of the middle east. They kill people who don't have the same radical beliefs as them and many people from many countries are apart of this group. This makes them a threat all over the world. I'm excited about learning more about what they have already done ad what they are planning on doing.

This weekend I played in the football game against SMNW. We won 29-0 and it was our first game of the season so it was very exciting. On Saturday, i went to watch the JV football game against SMNW. They killed northwest and shut them out. Yesterday i went to the Chiefs game with my friend Brady. The chiefs looked terrible and it might be a rough season for them.
